VOLLEYBALL: Cville earns key win
The Crawfordsville volleyball team remained perfect with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-18, 25-12) win over West Lafayette.
Laine Schlicher had 25 assists, a kill and 11 digs. Hallie Gayler had two blocks, eight kills, and Macy Bruton had 20 kills, seven digs, and two aces. Shea Williamson had six assists, two kills and 10 digs and an ace. Olivia Reed had 10 digs and four assists, while Allyson Barton had 11 digs and an ace. Alyx Bannon had 11 kills and two digs.
BOYS SOCCER: Athenians earn SAC win
The Crawfordsville boys’ soccer team earned a 4-1 Sagamore Conference win over Frankfort on Thursday night.
Emmett Bowman scored a pair of goals while Joseph Sanchez and Patrick Corado each added goals. Kevin Berrera had an assist, Bowman one and Andrew Jones an assist. Landon Timmons had 18 saves.

The Crawfordsville boys’ tennis team was swept by Western Boone 5-0 on Thursday night.
BOYS TENNIS: Chargers earn first win
The North Montgomery boys’ tennis team earned its first win of the season on Thursday night 3-2 over Greencastle.
“The guys played great tonight,” first-year coach Rick Holtz said. “Our doubles guys were controlling the net and hitting good solid shots. All three spots we won tonight battled back after dropping the first sets. It would have been easy for them to lay down and give up. Our guys had to battle back and at times dig themselves out of small holes.”
At No. 2 singles Hunter Kashon beat Eli Hardwick 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, while the duo of Will McKinnis and Hayden Turner beat Evan Harris and Jacob Carter 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Nate McCoy and Owen Utterback beat Andrew Adams and Carter Black in the No. 2 slot.
Alex Chapman fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles to Holton Miller, while Haze Kashon lost to Eli Callahan 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (8-6) at No. 3 singles.
BOYS TENNIS: Mounties sweep Eagles
The Southmont boys’ tennis team swept South Putnam 5-0 on Thursday night.
Adam Cox defeated Trey Blaydes 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Luke Tesmer beat Nate Clearwaters 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Luke Watson beat Brady Robinson 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(7-5) in the No. 3 slot.
The duo of Mason Hall and Micah Korhorn beat Ethan Wallace and Marcus Robinson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Chayce Howell and Harrison Haddock beat Trystan and Eli Smith 6-2, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.
GIRLS GOLF: Athenians split on links
The Crawfordsville girls’ golf team fired a 209 on Thursday night at the Crawfordsville Municipal Golf Course, beating Greencastle (211) and falling to Northview (177).
Bailey Mittal led the Athenians with a 41, while Evie Redding shot a 47, Sadie Walker a 58 and Carli Payne a 63.
GIRLS GOLF: Chargers fall in 3-way
The North Montgomery girls’ golf team fired a 201 on Thursday night, falling to Western Boone (161) and Danville (198)
Grace Littell and Grace Shrader led the Chargers with a pair of 48s, while Morgan Swick fired a 51. Maggie Yeager shot a 54, while Shayna Ratcliff and Ella Stultz both carded a 59 and Rylie Koopman shot a 61.
GIRLS GOLF: Mounties win 5-way
The Southmont girls’ golf team shot a 209 on Thursday night at Harrison Hills Golf Club, beating Parke Heritage (230), Seeger (233), and Fountain Central (238).
Macie Shirk led the Mounties and was the medalist with a 44, while Taylor Grino shot a 53. Bailey Barker fired a 55, Hanna Long a 57 and Olivia Gray a 68.
GIRLS SOCCER: Mounties fall to Tiger Cubs
The Southmont girls’ soccer team dropped a 4-1 match to Greencastle on Thursday night.
Marissa Craig scored the lone goal for the Mounties.
GIRLS SOCCER: Chargers down Cougars
The North Montgomery girls’ soccer team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 6-1 win over North Putnam on Thursday.
Teegan Bacon led the Chargers with three goals, while Sidney Campbell added a pair and Lydia Dugard added a single goal. Courtney Engels, Haley Sommer, and Caidence Hutson each had assists. Sydnee Turner had five saves.
“We played well tonight controlling the possession of the game,” North Montgomery coach Julie Hodges said. “We outshot our opponent 29-5. We did a better job of using the whole field to create more opportunities offensively.”
