Chargers fall to Hornets in extras

The North Montgomery baseball team dropped a 9-inning game 5-4 at Rossville on Friday night.

Jarrod Kirsch and Austin Sulc led the Chargers with two hits apiece.

Mounties sweep Hot Dogs

The Southmont girls’ tennis team swept Sagamore Conference foe Frankfort 5-0 on Friday night.

Mallory Murphy won 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Hanna Long won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Madison Murphy 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 3 position.

The duo of Megan Scheidler and Bailey Barker won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Dori Frederick and Marley Jones won 6-1 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

South baseball wins big

The Southmont baseball team defeated Attica 17-1 in five innings on Friday.

Adam Cox pitched four innings to pick up the win, and was relieved by Brennen Thornburg. Cox, Mason Hall, and Chayce Howell all had multiple hits in the win.
