Mounties dominate Mustangs

The Southmont wrestling team defeated Fountain Central 56-15.

There were only six contested matches, with each team winning three.

At 120 Fountain Central’s Waylon Frazee beat Southmont’s Noah Benge 2-0, while Southmont’s Gerald Hutson pinned Fountain Central’s Jason Matthews at 132. The Mustangs’ Willie Frazee won by fall over Justin Emerosn at 152. At 160 Southmont’s Evan Francis won by fall over Fountain Central’s Jordan Melvin, while Southmont’s Wyatt Woodall pinned FC’s Steven Romery at 195. Fountain Central’s Matthew Alexander won by fall over Southmont’s Collin Martin at 220.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Mustangs win again

Fountain Central won its fifth-straight game on Tuesday night, picking up a 33-28 Wabash River Conference win over Covington.

The Mustangs led 13-4 after a quarter, and held on in the second half with strong defense.

Fountain Central is 10-5 on the season and will entertain Tri-County on Thursday.
