Local teen seriously injured in crash

A multi-vehicle crash Tuesday on State Road 32E, near C.R. 550E, seriously injured a teen from Crawfordsville.

According to a press release issued by Montgomery County Sheriff Ryan Needham, deputies were dispatched to the crash site at 4:25 p.m. Upon arrival they discovered the wreckage from two semi-tractor trailers and a Ford F-550 pickup truck.

Police believe the Ford F-550, driven by Parker Schroll, 19, of Crawfordsville, was westbound on State Road 32 when it collided with an eastbound semi-tractor trailer driven by Abdinuur M. Mohamed, 26, of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Schroll’s vehicle then collided with a second semi-tractor trailer driven by Richard Rice, 57, of Danville, Illinois.

Schroll suffered serious injuries and was flown by LifeLine helicopter to an Indianapolis hospital. The extent of his injuries and his condition are unknown.

The crash remains under investigation.

Assisting at the scene were Crawfordsville Police, Crawfordsville Fire Department, Indiana State Police, Montgomery County Emergency Management and Wilson’s Towing.
