Annie Wilson, a 22-year-old Crawfordsville native, is doing big things at Disney’s EPCOT.
Wilson was chosen to perform in the Candlelight Processional Choir this Christmas holiday. She got the opportunity to audition by being a Disney cast member in the Attractions area of EPCOT.
The Candlelight Processional tells the story of Christmas with a large choir of 1,500 Disney cast members and singers, a 50-piece orchestra, featuring Voices of Liberty and a celebrity narrator each night.
Whoopie Goldberg and Tituss Burgess will be the narrators on the nights Wilson is performing.
Wilson has an extensive background in vocal performance. She has had voice lessons from two Indiana vocal trainers, John Blair in Crawfordsville and Tim Grino in Brownsburg. She was a part of show choir throughout her years at Crawfordsville High School and participated in the Indianapolis Childrens’ Choir. Upon graduating high school, she received a Creative Arts in Vocal Performance scholarship to Indiana State University. She has since changed her major and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources.
Wilson moved to Florida in August of 2023 when she was accepted into the Disney College Program and has been working in Attractions at EPCOT ever since.
She had originally applied for a lifeguard position at Disney to get her foot in the door. When she got to the interview they told her there were a few positions in the attraction area and things quickly transitioned to an interview for Attractions.
Wilson hopes she can one day use her degree to work at Disney, but it probably won’t be performing.
“In a perfect world, I would love to be a performer full-time. But honestly, it’s probably not that realistic,” Wilson said.
If the opportunity presented itself, Wilson said she’d gladly take it.
