Long final speaker in breakfast series

David Long is the final speaker in the 2022 Men’s Lenten Breakfast Series. He will speak April 9 at the First United Methodist Church.

Breakfast is served at 8 a.m. and the message begins at 8:30 a.m. Worship music will be provided by First United Methodist Church.

Long has been married to his wife Cindy for 45 years. They have three children, Cristi, Roy and Adam and eight grandchildren, ages 6-16, (six grandsons and two granddaughters). His wife is a retired Kindergarten teacher and he is a retired as transportation/maintenance director at Taylor Community School Corporation.

Long and his wife are both qualified speakers for the Gideon Ministry and have spoken in many churches in Howard and Tipton counties as well as special events throughout Indiana.

“I am blessed to have served on an International Scripture Blitz to Venezuela, April 9-16, 2016, where we were blessed to distribute over 189,000 New Testaments and Bibles,” Long said.

The couple serves as leaders and teachers in their local church fellowship in Greentown.

“One of the little pleasures in our lives is to ride bicycles,” he said. “We both rode the perimeter of Wales in 2004 as well as numerous other cross-country rides. We both ride for enjoyment and health.”

The Longs also are avid campers and have successfully infected their children and grandchildren with a love of camping.
