Lucille Berniece (Fuller) Starnes, 95, of Waynetown passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at home, while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 5, 1925, at Anna, Illinois, to the late Chester and Zora (Pierce) Fuller.

On Dec. 22, 1947 in Piggott, Arkansas, she married Mont J. Starnes, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2014. During World War II she a Rosie the Riveter and worked making gas and water cans for the war effort. She was loving mother and homemaker. Mont and her farmed in the New Market area and she worked at Carmen Nursing Home for many years as a house keeper. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and spending time with her family. She was very faithful and hated missing church. She was a member of Waynetown Baptist Church.

She is survived by son Ronald (Pat) Copeland of Crawfordsville; daughter Marcia (Allen) Hill of Waynetown; four grandchildren, Angie (Jerry) Givens, James (Kellie) Copeland, Dustan (Missy) Starnes and Mike (Kim) Starnes; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Helen Sanders; brother Don Fuller; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Mont; sons, Chester James Starnes and Mont Vernon Starnes; daughter Elsie May Starnes; two brothers, Ed Fuller and Glen Fuller; and two sisters, Freida McKinney and Fay Nellis.

Visitation will be at Sanders Shoemaker Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road, Waynetown, from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, with the Rev. Ron Raffignone officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded which can be viewed on her obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Old Union Cemetery north of Waveland.
