Posted

The American Legion Byron Cox Post #72 recently made its annual end-of-the-year donations to several local organizations, including the Crawfordsville Police Department, Crawfordsville Fire Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Salvation Army, Sunshine Society, Family Crisis Shelter, Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County, Youth Service Bureau, Trinity Mission, Operation: Toy Box, Boys & Girls Club of Montgomery County, Montgomery County Community Christmas Dinner, SWAT Team, Cub Scout Pack 909, Crawfordsville Professional Firefighters Shop With a Firefighter, Volunteers for Mental Health of Montgomery County and North Montgomery High School After Prom. Post 72 donated almost $15,000 to the community.

Funds were made available from  Bingo proceeds. Pictured with organization representation is Post #72 Commander Rodney Strong. He is Past Department (State) Commander of the American Legion 2018-2019).

Strong added that the Post had no Bingo from the middle of March to the first of July due to COVID-19. He also thanked all those who came out to play Bingo and do pull tabs, including Post members — without all of them the Post could not donate as much as it did this year.
