The Maple Grove Homemakers met at noon Nov. 18, 2024, at the 4-H Exhibit Hall with two guests, Loretta Whalen and Jeff

Vice, and nine members present.

The meeting was opened by President Linda Miller welcoming everyone to our Christmas meeting. Judy McBride had the tables decorated and they were festive and put us all in the holiday mood.

Miller shared with us information on the legends of the Holly, Peace and Joy, the Christmas tree and the Cardinal for its beauty and its red color representing the blood shed on the cross. Rita Kirkpatrick led us in prayer. We had a pitch-in lunch and with a wide variety of food and everyone had plenty to eat.

We had a short business meeting. Roll call was answered with, “When and how do you wrap your Christmas presents?” Treasurer Betty Jeffers said she had given McBride a check for $250 for gift cards. McBride reported that she had given five gift cards to Sommer School and that the school guidance counselor and school nurse would pass them out to five families. We will not meet in January or February. Our March meeting will be March 17 at the home of Kirkpatrick.

We spent the afternoon playing Christmas Bingo with Vice being the caller. We played until all our treasures had been won. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year was heard as we left the building along with a see you in March.
