Marcella Waldon, 99, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2022 at University Place in West Lafayette. She was the beloved wife of the late Loyd Waldon. Marcella was born in Roachdale on November 5, 1922 to the late Joseph and Forest Rose (Arnold) Layne.
As a young adult, Marcella worked at the former Crawfordsville shirt factory. She and Loyd married on June 9, 1950. Marcella was an excellent seamstress and cook and was devoted to her husband and 5 children.
Marcella is survived by her children, Roz (Stephen) Cote of West Lafayette, David Waldon of Crawfordsville and April (Ted) Ellis of Sandstone, MN, and 6 grandchildren Jessica, Justin, Emily, Ryan, Amber and Josh; 9 great grandchildren.
She is pre-deceased by her parents; husband, Loyd; daughter, Emily Waldon and son, Desmond Waldon; and siblings, Juanita Todd, Ruth Nichols and Cletus Layne.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 8th at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St. in Crawfordsville from 12 p.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. The service will be available for live streaming at www.SandersFuneralCare.com.
