Marjorie, or known to the students as Miss Hughes, came to Crawfordsville from the Laboratory School, Indiana State University, Terre Haute, to be one of the counselors at the new Tuttle Junior High School in 1961.
Hughes counseled hundreds of students while at Tuttle and in the elementary schools, where she found the need to reach students at an earlier age. Marjorie retired in 1994 after many years, all in the Crawfordsville Community Schools.
In recent years, marge has had many health issues and is now living in an assisted living facility near her family in Greensburg. In honor of her 90th birthday and her contributions to our schools and community, take a little time to send Marge (Miss Hughes) a card.
