Martha Joan Brown, 83, of Crawfordsville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020, at Hickory Creek.
She was born June 27, 1937, at New Market, to the late Lyle Claude and Mabel E. (Wright) Grimes.
Martha graduated from New Market High school. She married Donald Deane Brown on March 2, 1963. He preceded her in death May 5, 2015.
She was the head cook at Waynetown Middle School and North Montgomery High School for over 40 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Waynetown and a 65-year member of the Eastern Star #498. She enjoyed NASCAR and traveling with her husband before he passed.
She is survived by son Michael Brown; daughter Donna (Mike) Wood; and two grandchildren, Kelton and Trey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; brother Richard Grimes; and sister Betty Priebe.
Visitation will be at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, from 5 p.m. until the funeral service at 7 p.m. Social distancing is expected, and masks are required. Burial will take place Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed and recorded, which can be viewed on Martha’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com.
