Mary C. Gardner was born in Crawfordsville in 1947 to Henry and Faye Gardner.

She graduated from Crawfordsville High School and was a member of the Girls Athletic Association.

She started her career at RR Donnelley in 1966 as a bindery worker acquiring several certifications and promotions that led to her retirement from there. Her hobbies included bowling, traveling, fishing and relaxing on beaches. She loved country music and met several top name country music stars.

Throughout her life she provided support, opportunities and unconditional love to many children not only in her family but in the families of friends.

She was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion, Donnelley Club and the Crawfordsville Women’s Bowling League.

Preceded in death were her brothers and sisters, Sam Gardner, Charlie Gardner, Harold Gardner and Joan McFarland.

Survivors are her sisters, Carolyn Hunt, Bert Herron and Nancy Haley; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary died peacefully Tuesday, April 20, 2021.

A memorial service for close family was held April 23. Her ashes will be buried at the foot of her mother’s grave in Oak Hill Cemetery North, Crawfordsville.
