Mary Lou (Moore) Sheets, 91, of Crawfordsville passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.
She was born March 25, 1928, at Clarksburg, West Virginia, to the late Frank Douglas and Marguerite Virginia (McAtee) Moore.
On Oct. 28, 1948, at Winchester, Virginia, Mary married Harry Lee Sheets Sr., who preceded her in death Feb. 16, 1996. She was a loving mother and homemaker and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, V.F.W Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, the Moose Lodge in Crawfordsville and the Mace United Methodist Church. Mary enjoyed sewing and crafts, but most of all she loved helping the people at Ben Hur Nursing Home, where she lived for 15 years.
Mary is survived by son Harry Lee (Jo) Sheets Jr.; three daughters, Diana (Roy) Shober, Darlena (Rick) Huffman and Carol Glover; five brothers, Richard, William, Jack, David and Johnny; two sisters, Sharon and Martha; eight grandchildren, April, Heather, Matthew, Shelly, Mark, Matt, Sara and Ryan; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; son Jerry; daughter Connie; and brother Frank Jr.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. The funeral service will at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16 at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating. Burial will follow at Roachdale Cemetery.
