Wabash College junior defensive end Jerry McBee earned North Coast Athletic Conference Football Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for his performance in Saturday’s 31-28 victory by the Little Giants at Wittenberg University.
McBee recorded two sacks on the final drive g to help the Little Giants preserve the victory after taking the lead with a touchdown with 45 seconds remaining in the contest. Wabash remains undefeated in conference games with that win heading into this Saturday’s 130th Monon Bell Classic.
McBee’s two sacks on the final drive were part of a six-tackle effort for the junior defensive end. He finished the game with 2 1/2 total sacks for 12 yards. McBee also blocked a Wittenberg punt on the Tigers’ opening drive of the third quarter, leading to the Little Giants’ second TD of the game to take a 17-13 lead.
