McClaskey crowned Miss Montgomery County 2019

Jett McClaskey was already looking forward to her 10th and final year as a 4-H member. Now it will be a little more special as she will reign over the upcoming county fair as Miss Montgomery County 2019. 

“I’m really speechless,” she said after claiming the title from a field of seven queen contestants. “I just can’t find the right words to express myself.”

McClaskey, the daughter of Eric and Julie McClaskey, is a recent graduate of Western Boone High School. She plans to attend Ball State University this fall. 

“This was my third time in the pageant,” she said. “I put in a lot of work and a lot of practice to prepare.”

McClaskey was first runner-up last year and in 2017 she took home the princess title.

“I’m really looking forward to spending time with my court, having fun, passing out ribbons and being a role model,” she said.

Joining McClaskey on the court is first runner-up, Abbigayle Benge. She is the daughter of Greg and Dwanae Benge. She is a recent graduate of Southmont High School. She plans to attend Purdue University. Benge also is a 10-year 4-H member and was named Miss Congeniality last year.

Second runner-up and Miss Congeniality 2019 is Aubry Patton. She is the daughter of Josh and Melissa Patton. She has been involved in 4-H for five years. She is a recent Crawfordsville High School graduate and will attend Christina & Company Cosmetology School. She won the pageant’s Elaine Chambers Mental Attitude award in 2018.

Shyana Busse was named the Miss Montgomery County Princess from a field of three contestants. She is the daughter of Jay and Danielle Busse. Busse also was the recipient of the 2019 Elaine Chambers Mental Attitude Award. She has been in 4-H for eight years. She will be a junior at North Montgomery High School.

The Montgomery County 4-H Fair takes place July 12-18.
