Megan O’Donnell Barr, 41, of Crawfordsville passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2021, after a short but intense battle with an aggressive cancer.

Megan is the daughter of Brenda (Motes) O’Donnell, Crawfordsville, who survives, and the late Billy O’Donnell. She is also survived by brother Gary (Nancy) O’Donnell; grandmother Virginia Fulfer of Aransas Pass, Texas; husband Eric Barr; and son Trent Jenkins of Crawfordsville; and a large loving family of aunts, uncles and cousins from Texas and beyond.

Megan was born in Taft, Texas, on March 7, 1980. She was raised by her mom around family in Aransas Pass, Texas. She moved to Iowa briefly when she was 14 with her father’s work, ultimately settling in Crawfordsville, where her father worked at Nucor Steel and mother at Pace Dairy. Megan worked typical jobs in her younger years, but became a stay-at-home mom, raising Trent with her mom.

Megan married local musician Eric Barr on June 12, 2010. Megan was an avid lover of music and helped build and produce a local artist radio program and internet radio station which promoted local artists and their music. Megan was responsible for organizing and coordinating several benefits and fundraisers for local folks in need through the radio program and in her own capacity. Megan most recently worked for Crawfordsville Automotive (NAPA) before falling ill.

She loved the outdoors, fishing and photography. She was involved with music and reality video production, co-producing several videos with Eric. Megan always had a kind word with a smile that lit up the room. A quiet, guarded person until she got to know you, Megan always maintained a generous, helpful personality that positively impacted so many lives.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, Crawfordsville, with services immediately following. The family ask that food or money donations be made in Megan’s name at the Montgomery County Animal Welfare League (mcawl.com) in lieu of flowers.

Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.huntandson.com.
