Melissa “Lisa” S. Attkisson, 44, of Greencastle passed away Jan. 28, 2020.
She was born Aug. 22, 1975, at Indianapolis, to Thomas D. Goodman and Cynthia L. (Roberts) Rogers. Lisa graduated from North Putnam High School in 1993. She had worked in various skilled trades as her profession. Lisa was previously married to Daniel W. Attkisson.
Lisa was a gifted artisan — her passion was painting, sewing, glasswork, woodworking and stenciling. She loved bonfires and camping. Lisa was amazing and beautiful her entire life. She was a fierce champion of others and a compassionate caregiver.
Lisa is survived by her loving sons, Devan W. and Damon C. Attkisson; parents, Thomas D. Goodman and Cynthia L. (Jay) Rogers; siblings, Regina (Joel) Endicott, Jamie Long, Krissy (Steve) Landes and Jason Rogers; and niece and nephews, Kyren, Eyan, Regan, Rowan and Jack.
Lisa was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Josh Long.
The funeral service for Lisa will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Roachdale Christian Church, 1 N. Walnut St., Roachdale, with Pastor Mick Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at Fillmore Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to join for a time of visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at the church. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
