Michael Wayne Esra, 79, of Crawfordsville passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette.
He was born Aug. 25, 1941, at Crawfordsville, to the late Harold “Colonel” Esra and Elizabeth “Libby” (Fruits) Todd.
Mike attended Crawfordsville High School and on Feb. 7, 1959, at Cape Girardeau, Missouri, he married Judie Grabman, who preceded him in death on July 17, 2012.
Mike owned and operated Esra Industrial Construction since 1964. He was always the boss, was known as grandpa to all his employees and was always giving people something to do. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, raising his chickens and taking family camping trips. He also loved and looked forward to his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his friends.
He is survived by daughters, Debbie Cory of Tangier, Candee Esra of Lebanon and Connie Esra of Crawfordsville; sisters, Joyce (Jim) Anderson and Karen (Roger) Bruton; five grandchildren, Josh (Natalie) Pribble, Ryan (Kayla) Pribble, Clint Cory, Dan Cory and Chance Britton; and four great-grandchildren, Baily and Sydney Pribble, Colton Cory and Ryleigh Britton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Judie.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, with Pastor Warren Stewart officiating. The service will be live-streamed and recorded, which can be viewed on Mike’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Oak Hill North Cemetery.
