Mildred M. Kunkle, 87, of Veedersburg passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2022, at her residence.
Mildred was born July 27, 1935, at Crawfordsville, the daughter of Everett Talmadge and Pauline Jane (Bryant) Wrightsman. She married Howard Mason Kunkle on Dec. 6, 1953. He preceded her in death Aug. 14, 2019.
She is also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wrightsman.
Surviving family includes: two daughters, Terry (Linn) Allen, Veedersburg, and Trudy (James) Hook, Lexington, South Carolina; two sons, Aaron (Suzi) Kunkle, Indianapolis, and Alex (Donna) Kunkle, Danville, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mildred graduated from Greene Township High School in 1953. She had been a member of the First Christian Church in Veedersburg since 1965. Prior to her retirement she was employed for many years at the Veedersburg State Bank. She enjoyed the Monday night Euchre games at the Chatterbox, taking care of her many flowers, and the long-time annual trips to the Covered Bridge Festival. More than anything she loved and enjoyed her family.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31 at First Christian Church, 301 Mill St., Veedersburg, with Pastor Garland Pannell officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30 at First Christian Church. Burial at Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville.
