A Crawfordsville woman died Monday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of C.R. 500S and C.R. 850E.

According to a media release from Montgomery County Sheriff Ryan Needham, deputies were dispatched at 6:22 a.m. to the crash site and discovered a 1995 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck and semi tractor-trailer had collided.

A preliminary investigation revealed the pickup truck, driven by Jackie L. Jackson, 56, of Crawfordsville, was traveling east on C.R. 500S when it struck a semi that was attempting to go west on C.R. 500S. The semi had been traveling north on C.R. 850E and was attempting to turn west on C.R. 500S when the collision occurred.

Jackson, 56, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi, Allen L. Cline, 58, of New Ross was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation and is being investigated by a crash re-constructionist with the sheriff’s office. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected.

The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by the Crawfordsville Fire Department, Walnut Township Fire Department, Montgomery County Coroner, Indiana State Police Motor Carrier Division and Wilson’s Towing.
