Winning is nothing new to the Southmont girl’s golf team, and they checked off win No. 1 Saturday with a score of 376 to win their own invite on Saturday afternoon at the Crawfordsville Country Club. North Montgomery fired a 463 as a team, and Crawfordsville competed with just three golfers, so a team score was not recorded.
Lexi Rusk led the Mounties with a 91, while Carson White, Bailey Thompson, and Erin Williams each shot a 95. Logan Berrisford rounded out Southmont’s score with a 96.
Chloe Maxwell led the Chargers with a 106, while Abbie Horn fired a 114, and Morgan Swick a 118. Grace Littell fired a 125, Ella Stultz a 129, Maggie Yeager a 130, and Grace Shrader a 133.
Georgia Kincaid and Bailey Mittal both shot a 100 for the Athenians, while freshman Sadie Walker shot a 129.
All three county golf teams will be back on the course with a busy week ahead. North Montgomery plays Attica and Seeger at Rocky Ridge tonight, hosts Covington on Tuesday, and South Putnam on Thursday. Southmont is at home against Terre Haute North tonight at the Crawfordsville Country Club, and hosts Danville on Thursday. Crawfordsville will host McCutcheon on Wednesday at the Muni.
