Southmont will welcome its newest class into the Southmont Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday Sep. 24 at the Crawfordsville Country Club at 6 p.m.
The following individuals will join a very special group of Mountie as the 2022 inductees: McKenzi Jordan 2014 softball, Devin Burton 2014 football and basketball, Clint Williams 1990 track & field and basketball, Doug Lewis 1991 football and baseball, Rick French, 1973 basketball and baseball, Jason Kelsey 2006 wrestling, Jake Sandusky 2000 golf.
Four Southmont Legends will also be recognized: From Ladgoa, Dave Wilson, 1968 football, basketball, track & field, and baseball. From New Market, Rick DeWitt, 1964 track & field and baseball. From New Ross, Alan Norris, 1963 track & field and basketball. And from Waveland, Herschel Tague, 1963 basketball and baseball.
The 2014 softball team which posted a record of 23-9 and made it all the way to the state finals will be recognized as a team at the banquet. Max Nichols will be recognized as a special contributor and former track coach Kevin Stewart will also be recognized.
