Marking Milestones

Mr. and Mrs. Myers

Posted

Larry D. Myers and Louise (Roberts) Myers of rural Marshall were married Sept. 27, 1959, at the former Russellville Federated Church.

The couple has two sons, Stanley Paul Myers and wife Melody of Wallace, and Marc Lee Myers and wife Susan of rural Marshall, and their children, Jacey Logan Myers and Brayton Lee Myers, both at home.

Larry and Louise have lived on the family farm for 60 years and raised hogs and cattle and farmed nearly 1,000 acres, raising corn, soybeans, wheat and hay.

Larry now has a new hobby of woodturning, making wooden bowls, vases and his famous wood mason jar lids. He is a member of the International Wood Collectors Society.

Both Larry and Louise have traveled over the United States showing and selling his work. Larry cut trees and sawed, planed and installed and finished the wood floors in the couple’s home.

Louise loves decorating their home. She loves making floral arrangements, real and silk, and in general makes things pretty. She also has written a cookbook. She’s been known as a pretty good cook and baker. She has won grand champion and a silver bowl at the Indiana State Fair on her white cake and numerous blue and purple ribbons on her baking, sewing and decorating at the county fair. Louise baked and decorated wedding and birthday cakes in the business she had for many years.
