Mustangs move on to sectional final

VEEDERSBURG — The Fountain Central Mustangs defeated the Faith Christian Eagles 45 to 30 on Friday in the Sectional 53 semifinal game.

The Mustangs battled back and forth early with the Eagles, falling behind and finishing the first half down 20-15.

At the half, Fountain Central reset and came out strong. They began attacking the Eagle defense, finding opportunities to score. They were able to outscore their opponents 30-10 in the second half.

Several Mustangs contributed to the win. Henley Good led the way with 12 points, shooting 80% from the free throw line. Bella Bacon earned player of the game honors, scoring 11 points and going six for eight at the free throw line.

Hannah Prickett finished the night with eight points. Rylee Simko hit two threes to finish with six points. KayLee Spragg and Brailey Hoagland finished with four apiece.

The strong team effort on both ends of the floor accelerated the Mustangs past the Eagles.

The Mustangs will face Lafayette Central Catholic in the sectional championship game on the Dave Sanders Court at Fountain Cent at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 on the Dave Sanders Court
