Fountain Central saw an up and down football season come to a close on Saturday with a 41-0 loss to undefeated South Putnam in the Class A sectional opener.
The Mustangs were delayed two weeks in starting their season due to COVID-19 and missed the regular season finale due to more concerns. Fountain Central finally kicked off the season and showed promise in a 32-18 loss to Frontier on Sep. 5, but then dropped four more games in a row.
Finally, in week 8 of the season, the Mustangs (1-6) ended a 19-game losing streak with a 25-7 win over North Vermillion.
