RUSSELLVILLE — A 1946 Radio Mystery will be re-created as Nostalgic Productions returns to the Russellville Community Center to present another Richard Diamond Detective play — “The Lonely-Hearts Affair.”
The audience will sit in on a live radio broadcast of a weekly show as presented in the 1940’s. The show will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday following a buffet soup and sandwich meal. The evening meal will be served at 6 p.m. with the doors opening at 5:30 p.m.
Nostalgic Productions consists of actors from Crawfordsville’s Sugar Creek players who just love to get on the stage. These radio shows provide the actors with the opportunity of taking the stage to the public. The cast for this production is made up of Therese and Mark Eutstler, Carol and Kurt Homan, Kym Bushong, Bonnie Yund, Don Lindsay and Betsy and Keith Strain.
When the lights go down it will be like you have just turned in to a variety show just
ending, followed by a series of advertisements taken verbatim from that time, and then be entertained by the weekly Richard Diamond, Private Detective Show.
The buffet meal will consist of a variety of soups including: potato, broccoli cheese, vegetable, taco soup, beef stew, ham and beans and chili. Therea also ham salad sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches and grilled cheese. A vegetable tray will be available, along with a variety of desserts. Drinks will include iced tea, lemonade and water.
Cost of the meal is $10. Cost of the play is $5. Plan to attend both for a total of $15. Seating will be on a first-come basis.
Proceeds will help the community center receive a grant to make more improvements at the facility.
