Nancy M. (Boggan) Foxworthy, 87, of Veedersburg passed away at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at her daughter’s residence in LaVergne, Tennessee.

Nancy was born March 11, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late John Walden and Ethel Catherine (Finley) Boggan. 

During Nancy’s early years, her father’s job required the family to relocate often, her senior year was spent in Pine Village, Indiana, where she graduated from Pine Village High School in 1955. When her family moved again, Nancy decided to stay in Indiana and work. Soon after, she met Oscar Foxworthy and they were wed April 21, 1957.

Nancy was a loving mother and supportive wife. She enjoyed all aspects of farm life, as she and her husband Oscar acquired his family farm. She enjoyed working in her garden and flowerbeds, and shared the surplus of vegetables with family and friends. She was known for her rhubarb patch. She valued hard work, honesty, and enjoyed working as a team. She was a member of the Sterling Christian Church and an active member of K.I.T. Club.

Nancy leaves behind daughter Cathy Greene of LaVergne and son-in-law John Creager; six grandchildren, Paige Greene, Nathaniel Greene (Amanda), Bryce Greene (Jessica), Gabriel Greene (Josie), Marci (Greene) Hagedorn (Bobby) and Patrick Greene (Nicholette Guy); and five great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Oscar Foxworthy; daughter Marcia Foxworthy; and brother Paul “Bud” Boggan.

Friends may call 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 at Sterling Christian Church, Veedersburg. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Christian Cemetery, north of Veedersburg.
