The Montgomery County Health Department announced plans for two new COVID-19 testing sites, including one location that will launch operations next week.
Beginning Tuesday, drive-through testing will be available at the former Horner’s Automotive dealership, located between CVS Pharmacy and the Crawfordsville Police Department, and at the corner of East Spring and North Green streets in Crawfordsville. The new testing site is made possible through collaboration between the Montgomery County Health Department, the City of Crawfordsville, the Crawfordsville Community Paramedicine Program and the Indiana State Department of Health.
Testing will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 4-7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The site will be closed to testing on city, county and/or federal holidays. Current plans are for testing to be available at this site through June 2021, depending on the availability of appropriate supplies.
Testing is free to all residents, with or without symptoms, and a doctor’s order is not required.
Those needing a test must register ahead of time. To register for testing go to www.coronavirus.in.gov, find the “Click here to find a testing site” link at the top of the page, and then click on “Register for testing at a Community Test Site.” After entering the 47933 zip code, the community testing sites in Montgomery County are displayed with a link to schedule an appointment. Upon arrival for a scheduled appointment, residents are asked to enter the testing site from East Spring Street and to be alert for signage with additional instructions.

A second community testing site in Crawfordsville is expected to open to the public next month. Details will be released once they become available.
Testing will continue to be offered at the Franciscan Health Crawfordsville campus, 1710 Lafayette Road, Crawfordsville. The site is open 2-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and only to those with a doctor’s order.
