2025 Montgomery County 4-H Fair

Nine seek queen, princess titles

A total of nine young women will compete Saturday for the titles of 2025 Miss Montgomery County Queen and 2025 Miss Montgomery County Princess. There are five contestants in the queen division and four in the princess division.

Contestants seeking the princess title are Peyton Page, Savannah Crowe, Adlyn Rice and Lennon Woods.

Contestants vying for the queen title are Emma Leonhardt, Peri McClaskey, Clair Simpson, Kylee Reeves and Vanessa Schultz.

The annual contest will take place at 8 p.m. Saturday in the 4-H building at the fairgrounds.

 

QUEEN CONTESTANTS

• Emma Leonhardt is the daughter of Steve and Beth Leonhardt. She will be a senior at North Montgomery High School. She has been a 4-H member for nine years and is a member of the Wayne Winners. Her projects include sewing, foods and llamas. Leonhardt has been on the honor roll from freshman through her junior years at NMHS and was the Reserve Grand Champion at the Indiana State Fair 4-H Llama Show. She was the second runner-up for queen at the Strawberry Festival in 2024.

• Peri McClaskey is the daughter of Eric and Julie McClaskey. She will be a sophomore at St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for 10 years and is a member of the Walnut Willing Hands. Her projects include swine, goats and foods. Her recognitions include Grand Champion Gilt at the Montgomery County Fair, being top 20 in her class and graduating with academic and technical honors.

• Clair Simpson is the daughter of Darren and Kerri Simpson. She will be a college freshman in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for 10 years and is a part of the Brown Lucky Leaf club. Her projects include beef, cake decorating, sewing and Fashion Revue. Simpson’s extra-curricular activities include tennis, FFA, FCA, show choir and theater. Her recognitions include the Barbara Allen Award, the Jennifer Jo Spencer Memorial Award and the Rory Kerns Memorial Award.

• Kylee Reeves is the daughter of David and Amy Reeves. She is a Southmont High School graduate and will attend Ball State University in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for 10 years and is in the Clark Hustling Hoosiers club. Her projects include sewing, Fashion Revue, home improvement, sheep and Jr. Leaders. Reeves’ extra-curricular activities include cross country, track, FFA, the National Honors Society, the National Technical Honor Society and volunteering. Her special awards and recognitions include being the 2023-24 Indiana 4-H State Ambassador and receiving the Indiana 4-H Leadership Accomplishment Scholarship.

• Vanessa Schultz is the daughter of Kyle and Marci Schultz. She will be a senior at North Montgomery High School in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for nine years and is a part of the Wayne Winners club. Her projects include goats and consumer clothing. Schultz’s extra-curricular activities include being a member of the Grace and Mercy Youth Group, being a Dance Inclusion teacher and being a former Dance Inclusion dancer and competition member. Her special awards and recognitions include the Merit Award, the Leadership Award at Dance Prayer Warrior in 2022 at church camp, being the Grand Champion for Dairy Wether Goats in 2021, honor group at the Indiana State Fair for 2023-24 and the being grand champion in consumer clothing for the last four years.

 

PRINCESS CONTESTANTS

• Peyton Page is the daughter of Dustin and Jessica Page. She will be a junior at North Montgomery High School in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for eight years and is a member of the Happy Hoosiers. Her projects include swine, rabbits, poultry, photography and floriculture. Page’s extra-curricular activities include the Youth Civic Engagement Council, tennis and the National Honor Society. She was also recognized as the Teacher Pick Student of the Year.

• Savannah Crowe is the daughter of Dan and Shelly Crowe. She will be a junior at North Montgomery High School in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for eight years and is a member of the Anti-Cants club. Her projects include woodworking, sewing, Fashion Revue, cooking and Jr. Leaders. Crowe’s extra-curricular activities include swim/dive, tennis, theater and piano. She received awards for Outstanding Leadership in 2024 and Best Teamwork in 2025. She has also received many piano and choir awards.

• Adlyn Rice is the daughter of Chad and Shalagh Rice. She will be a sophomore at Crawfordsville High School in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for two years and is a member of the Krazy K9. Her projects include agility, obedience and showmanship. Rice’s extra-curricular activities include theater and choir. She won ninth in state in dog obedience.

• Lennon Woods is the daughter of Michael and Maggie Woods. She will be a junior at Southmont High School in the fall. She has been a 4-H member for eight years and is a member of the Clark Hustling Hoosiers club. Her projects include poultry, photography, aerospace, floriculture, dogs, foods, communications, Jr. Leaders, arts and crafts, garden, tractor safety, operating skills and zero-turn mower safety and operator skills. Woods’ extra-curricular activities include cross country, track and field, 4-H, FFA, Business Professionals of America, Interact Club, student government and Milligan Park Pool lifeguard. Her recognitions and awards include being the Indiana FFA diversified Crop Production Entrepreneur winner, receiving fourth place for Indiana Business Professionals of America Interview Skills in 2025, receiving the Beverly Turner Scholarship, receiving the Montgomery County 4-H Rory Kerns and Jenna Smith awards in 2024, among several other awards.
