Norma Coleen (Thompson) Newkirk, 94, of Crawfordsville, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2024, at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.
She was born in Lawrence County, Indiana on April 10, 1930, to the late Lynn and Ione (McKee) Thompson.
Norma attended Richland Township High School. In 1948, in Wingate, she married her first husband, Lowell Duncan, who preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 1969. On May 25, 1973, she married Gerald Newkirk and spent 40 years together before his passing on Sept. 29, 2013.
Norma was a loving mother and homemaker. She loved gardening, shopping and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Mellott Christian Church and Community Reformed Church of Lafayette.
She is survived by her children, Pam Glascock of Hillsboro, William (Gwenda) Duncan of Missouri, Jeff (Denise) Duncan of Veedersburg and Ron (Carren) Newkirk of Brookston; daughter-in-law Debbie Newkirk; 12 grandchildren, Chad Glascock, Aaron (Amy) Glascock, Jennifer Glascock, Neal (Leeann) Duncan, Jason Duncan, Amber (Michael) Pickett, Courtney Rogers, Jessica (Brad) Keller, Mandy (Rich) Edmonds, Matthew (Crystal) Newkirk, Bradley (Alecia) Newkirk and Kevin Newkirk; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lowell Duncan; her second husband, Gerald Newkirk; and step-son Phillip Newkirk.
Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Care, 202 Bratton Road, Waynetown, on Wednesday, Dec, 11, 2024, from noon until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
