New electrical improvements were approved Monday by members of the North Montgomery School Board. All of the projects are listed as maintenance items.
The corporation will spend $33,914 on new electrical switch gear in all five of their schools.
New lighting around the exterior of the high school will be replaced as well as eight light poles in the north parking lot. All of the items being replaced will be more efficient, saving the corporation money because the bulb replacements for the old lighting units are hard to find and expensive. The cost is $17,359.
Soccer field score boards are being replaced at the cost of $30,800. The old boards were inoperative last season at times.
The maintenance fund will be used to pay for the electrical improvements.
The retirement of Food Service Director Karyn Elder was approved effective June 30. Lauren Jeges was hired as the new director.
The board reappointed Mary Broadstreet to the Linden Public Library Board.
