A 1943 Radio Mystery will be re-created Sunday at the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church.
A new group called “Nostalgic Productions” is presenting “Richard Diamond: Private Detective — The Heppelewhite Affair.”
The audience will sit in on a live radio broadcast of a weekly show presented in 1943. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and be followed by fellowship over ice cream floats. There is no admission for this show and all are welcome. Located on the corner of Washington Street and Wabash Avenue, the church is doing this show just for the fun of it.
“Nostalgic Productions” consists of actors who just love to get on stage. The other reason for the production group was to “take the stage to the public,” as organizer Keith Strain put it, having found that far too few people had ever heard or the Vanity Theater.
The cast is made up of Therese and Mark Eustler, Carol and Kurt Homann, Dee Osterhoudt, Kay Nannet, Betsy and Keith Strain and Kym Bushong. They will be enhanced by the keyboard expertise of Jim Heinzman and Dan Wills on sound.
