WAYNETOWN — Waynetown Christian Church will take a step back into the 1940’s at 5 p.m. Sunday by hosting Nostalgic Productions in the Family Life Center.
The theatrical group will present “Richard Diamond: Private Detective — The Lone Hearts Affair.” The show is a re-enactment of an actual radio mystery first heard on radio in the 1940’s. The production’s script includes the mystery story and the actual commercials that were heard during the original show.
The plot revolves around a kidnapping that Private Detective Richard Diamond must solve to save a young lady from the villain.
The 45-minute production includes music performed by cast members and many sound affects.
The cast will be dressed in 1940’s style clothing during the show.
When the lights go down, the production will begin at the conclusion of a variety show before tuning in the radio to the mystery.
Cast members are Mark Eutsler, Carol and Kurt Homann, Kym Bushong, Bonnie Yund, Don Lindsay and Keith and Becky Strain.
There is no admission charge for the show, but a free-will offering will be accepted for hurricane victims. The church will send the money to International Disaster Relief Fund in Kokomo.
There will be a social time after the show in the FLC. The church is located at 101 W. Walnut St., Waynetown.
