Oliver Hubert Stevens, 92, of Crawfordsville passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at home.
He was born March 8, 1928, at Ingles, Kentucky, to Jackson and Emma (Floyd) Stevens. Oliver married the love of his life, Imogene Polston, on July 7, 1950, who survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Dan (Patricia) Stevens and Alan (Mary) Stevens, both of Lafayette; sister Marie; six grandchildren, Shelena, Mike, Bryan (Brooke), Heather (Myles), Amy (Mike) and Todd; and seven great-grandchildren, Kaylena, Alyssa, Tripp, Dax, Cody, Dalton and Toby.
Oliver is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bonnie, Winnie and Wanda; and brother Hollis.
Throughout the years he worked as a turnkey at the Montgomery County Rotary Jail and retired from Crawford Industries after 20-plus years. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage working on his Wisconsin Motors and loved spending time with his family.
There will be a visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at noon Friday, May 8 at Sanders Priebe Funeral Care, 315 S. Washington St., Crawfordsville. Pastor Vernon Dowell will officiate. Social distancing is expected and limited numbers will be allowed to enter at a time. The service will be live-streamed and recorded, which can be viewed on Oliver’s obituary page at www.sandersfuneralcare.com. Burial will follow at Oak Hill South Cemetery.
