Pair of Charger senior baseball players react to cancellation of season

The careers of North Montgomery senior baseball players are over, and for one senior it goes beyond the game.

“As soon as I heard the news my heart instantly shattered,” Kai Warren said. “All I could think of was how I’ll never get the opportunity to put on a North Montgomery uniform, but I can never forget all those great times I’ve shared with many teammates over these past four years. It makes me so happy to know that I get the opportunity that some other people don’t, and that’s playing sports at the college level.”

Warren will continue both his baseball and football playing careers at Wabash College starting this fall. He says he has no regrets from his high school athletic career.

“Not a single one,” he said. “I knew going into every practice, game, or team lift that I was going to give it 110%.”

“I’m very thankful for all my coaches and teammates who helped me along the way. My heart is broken for my fellow class of ‘20 students, but with a little trust in God, we can get through this.”

Fellow senior teammate Isaac Northcutt wants to thank the game of baseball for all it has taught him.

“Thank you to the greatest game ever for giving me so many memories throughout my four years of high school,” he said. “The game of baseball has taught me so many things and I will forever hold those in my heart. To my fellow senior teammates, this year was going to be a fun one. My head hurts and there is no way to explain how I am feeling right now. I will miss this game so much.”

“My last thank you goes out to both of my parents. Thank you for putting in many hours getting me to and from games, practices, and events. You guys have been one of my biggest supporters and I’ll be forever so grateful for that.
