Members of the Parke Heritage High School and Parke Heritage Middle School FFA chapters competed in the District VII Contest on April 1 at North Putnam High School.
Placing first and advancing to the state contest were Drew Brown - Agricultural Sales Presentation, Drew Brown and Evan James - Agricultural Mechanization and Technology Demonstration and Emma Norman - Employment Skills.
Earning second place were the Brennan Cox - Freshman Public Speaking, JD Seward and Parker Grayless - Ag and Farm Business Management Demonstration, Mason Bowsher and Hailey Liebrandt- Plant and Soil Science Demonstration, Paige Bishop and Madison Coleman - Natural Resources Demonstration, Ashlee Clodfelter and Will Patton- Horticulture Science and Landscape Management Demonstration, Paige Bishop and Madison Coleman - Natural Resources Demonstration and Carson Rolison - Freshman Extemporaneous Speaking. The chapter’s exhibit also earned a second place.
Third place award winners were Keely Black and Lilie Mace - Animal Science Demonstration. Also participating were Treyton Burgess - Freshman Creed Speaking, Marika Granberg - Prepared Public Speaking, Jackson Williams - Extemporaneous Speaking, Josie Bodine - Essay.
For the middle school chapter, members competing were Mackenzie Reath - Discovery Creed Speaking, Tucker Conley - Discovery Animal Science Demonstration, Mackenzie Reath, Tucker Conley, Leah Maupin and Abby Mathis - Discovery Quiz Bowl; Ella Norman and Addison Ramsay - Discovery Plant and Soil Science.
Hallie Jones, Colton McMullen and Shannon Witty are the PHHS advisors. Natalee Laube serves as the advisor for PHMS.
