Social studies students from Parke Heritage Schools spent part of their summer vacation touring several sites around Washington, D.C. The trip was a part of their studies of the United States in their U.S. History class. Melanie Miller, social studies teacher, organized the trip. The places the group visited were Ford's Theater, National Archives, Library of Congress, Capitol Building, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Franklin Roosevelt Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Natural History Museum, American History Museum, Albert Einstein Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Iwo Jima National Memorial, 911 Memorial at the Pentagon, Gettysburg, Air Force Memorial, and the Supreme Court.
