Patricia Ann Asher Cline, 84, of Ladoga, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 22, 1940, to Byron H. Asher and Nina Marie Robbins Asher. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, Herschell Asher, Helen Sutherlin and Marilyn Wagoner.
Pat’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Allen L. (Terri) Cline and Michael B. (Kimberly) Cline. She was a proud grandmother of seven: Michael L. (Autumn) Cline, Michelle (Chris) Sering, Matt Cline, Heather (Trent) Knight, Kristin Paris, Tyler (Breanna) Cline, and Kyle (Victoria) Cline. Her 12 great-grandchildren brought her so much joy: Clay and Taylor Sering, Kayden and Kinsley Knight, Henley and Asher Cline, Vivian, Wyatt, and Lanie Paris, Clara and Cooper Cline, and Oliver Cline. Pat is survived by her seven stepsons Brent (Laurie) Brindle, Blake (Lori) Brindle, Brad (Barbara) Brindle, Blair (Tammy) Brindle, Kevin (Deborah) Harney, Troy (Tina) Harney, and Toby (Heather) Harney. She also cherished her many nieces and nephews, who were very dear to her and always held a special place in her heart. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her loved ones, watching them grow, and celebrating their achievements.
On Nov. 1, 1959, Pat married Harold Cline, and together they built a beautiful life until his passing Dec. 29, 2005. She married Melson Brindle on March 22, 2008. Their years together were filled with warmth and companionship until his passing on Nov. 24, 2014. Later, she reunited with her high school sweetheart, Donald Harney, and they married on June 25, 2016, sharing cherished years together until his passing on Dec. 5, 2024.
Pat dedicated nearly 40 years of her life to Hendricks Regional Hospital, where she served as the Director of Medical Records. She took great pride in her work, ensuring accuracy and care in all that she did. Outside of her career, Pat was known for her love of sewing. She served as the State President of the American Sewing Guild, and her passion for the craft was evident in the beautiful quilts she made for her children and grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was teaching her granddaughters how to sew, passing down a treasured skill and creating lasting memories.
Pat had a deep connection to farm life, appreciating the hard work and dedication that came with it. She loved being a part of the farm and took pride in her family’s agricultural roots. She was also known for her delicious home-cooked meals, often serving them straight from the trunk of her car at the edge of the field, making sure no one went hungry during long farming days. She also loved fresh produce from the garden, especially when it was used to prepare meals for her family.
She was a member of Whitesville Christian Church, where she enjoyed fellowship and time with friends.
Patricia was known for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Whether she was sewing a quilt, preparing a home-cooked meal, or simply sharing laughter with those she loved, she made every moment meaningful. Her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
You may pay your respects at Whitesville Christian Church during the calling on Thursday, March 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. and will be followed by graveside services at Wesley Cemetery, south of her farm in Ladoga.
