Patricia Sue McHargue, 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 24, 2025, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
She was born Jan. 11, 1941, in Crawfordsville, a daughter of the late Ralph Eugene and Helen Geneva (Perry) Butler. On Dec. 14, 1962, she was united in marriage to Norman McHargue in Boone County. He preceded her in death Sept. 3, 2017.
Pat was a lifelong resident of Boone County. She graduated from Dover High School in 1959.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Pat loved her family dearly. She was dedicated to raising her children and taking care of the home. She enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, and games of all types. Pat was of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include two children, Kevin (Melissa) McHargue of New Ross and Carol (David) Gregory of Advance; three grandchildren, Kyle (Kelsey) McHargue of New Ross, Kameron McHargue of New Ross and Katelyn (Jacob) Swank of New Market; six great-grandchildren; brother Richard Butler of Thorntown; sister-in-law Pamela Butler of Lafayette; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband of 54 loving years, Pat was preceded in death by brother Ed Butler, sister Nancy Williams and sister-in-law Brenda Butler.
Funeral services are planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Porter and Hunt Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St., Jamestown. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of services. Interment will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Montgomery County.
