Paul Edward Curtis, 89, of West Lafayette passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024.
He was born Feb. 12, 1935, at Lowell, Indiana, to the late Charles and Ruth (Stahl) Curtis.
Paul graduated from Wheeler High School and continued his education at Ball State University and Purdue University where he received a master’s degree in education.
In 1959, he married Dotty Lou Davis in Brook, Indiana.
Paul began his career as a teacher and coach for Brook High School then relocated to North Manchester High School, Pike High School, Crawfordsville High School, and Washington Township High School. Throughout his career, he also coached golf, boy’s basketball, and football and was involved with FCA.
Paul enjoyed golfing and watching Purdue Basketball and the Chicago Cubs.
Surviving are his wife, Dotty Curtis of West Lafayette; his children, Debbie Darden of West Lafayette, Doug (Megan) Curtis of Leo, Indiana, and Dawn (Doug) Caldwell of West Lafayette; his sister, Jill (Bob) Riggs of Valparasio; his grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Regan, Dane, Taylor, Allison, Austin, Emma, McKenna; and his 13 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Judy Curtis.
A celebration of life will be held 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 at Harrison High School in the cafeteria.
