Peggy Lou Waddell of Linden passed away Monday night, Jan. 20, 2025, at Franciscan Health of Lafayette. She was 81.
She worked with Danville-Boyle County Economic Development in Danville, Kentucky, a job she was quite proud of. Her work earned her the distinction of being named a Kentucky Colonel. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church in Darlington and enjoyed gardening.
Born July 30, 1943, in Powell County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Elbert Lee Tipton and Lou Emma Halsey Tipton.
Surviving family includes: two daughters, Nancy Harmon and Beth (Jim) Swift, both of Crawfordsville; son Dan (Karla) Kincaid of Crawfordsville; life partner, Jim Hall; sister Sandy Creek; three step-sons, Christopher (Sabrina) Waddell, Adrian (Jamie) Waddell and Micah (Sara) Waddell; several grandchildren along with some great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Burkhart Funeral Home. Services will begin at 2 p.m., led by Pastor Brian Holt. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery on State Road 47 south.
