The Peterson Farm Brothers, some of the most popular farmers on YouTube, will be performing at Waveland Town Park today.
The brothers — Greg, Nathan and Kendal — farm in central Kansas, and started a YouTube channel in 2012 with the goal of entertaining and educating. The brothers’ parody music videos grew their YouTube audience to over a 130 million views and over 600,000 followers on social media.
Event organizer Waveland Strong was looking for a way to kick off their 2021 season.
“I saw a post on their Facebook page that said they had several openings this spring and thought it would be a perfect fit,” Waveland Strong president Troy Phillips said.
Because Waveland Strong seeks to promote other organizations in the community, two Waveland-area youth organizations — Southmont FFA and Brown Lucky Leaf 4-H Club — will raise funds during the event.
The event begins at 6 p.m. with a dinner prepared by FFA. All proceeds will support the award-winning chapter’s activities. Brown Lucky Leaf 4-H Club will have drinks and concessions for sale. Those attending will want to bring chairs or a blanket for seating.
The brothers will take the stage at 7 p.m. The program includes how they got started making videos, the power of communicating through social media, and the lessons they’ve learned in advocating for agriculture. They will perform several of their parody music videos throughout the presentation and will be around afterward for pictures and autographs.
The brothers speak and perform at various events throughout the U.S., though not all three brothers attend every event. Phillips said that two of the brothers will be at the event, with one staying home to work on the farm.
