Parke Heritage Middle School held its fall sports honors night on Tuesday. Following a short message in the gym from Athletic Director Jeff McCoy, each sport held their own recognition program in a different location. FCA members presented the coaches with thank you bags for their time and dedication to coaching the athletes.
Cross country team members were introduced by Coach Meghan Doss. Earning awards were boys most valuable runner- Kamden Shields and girls most valuable runner was Anesa Veseli. Other team members were Joel Miller, Michael Smith, Krede Shields, Keegan Shields, Gabe Crowder, Madi Shaefer, Alyssa Harshman and Cobie McCrory.
Tennis team members were recognized by Coach Brock Mitchell. Treigh Schelsky was named the Most Valuable Player, Nate Woodard earned the Mental Attitude Award and Jackson Jenkins won the Most Improved Award. Other team members were Wesley Pratt, Carter Crum, Parker Hopkins, Wyatt Shirley, Marshal Vincent, Ethan Hanson, Lane Helderman, and Cian Todd. Jason Hanson served as an assistant coach.
Seventh grade volleyball players earning awards were Carly Newnum - Most Valuable Player Award and Addison Ramsay - Server Award. Also on the team were Julia Carroll, Jackie Ferguson, Hayden Holcomb, Lydia Jeffries, Lanie Jovanovich, Abby Mathis, Alexis McAmis, Kendall McKinney, Samantha Mikus, Ella Norman and Kendra Tidwell. The team was coached by Jill Ferguson.
Coach Deb Mitchell introduced the members of the eighth grade volleyball team. Awards were presented to Hallie Miller - Coaches Playmaker and Hustle Award; Kara Jeffers - Most Improved and Mental Attitude Award and Taya Sturmer - Powerhouse Serving Award. Also on the squad were Maddilynn Crowder, Paisley Hartman, Aubree Kieft and Alexandra Patton.
Members of the football team were introduced by Coach Shane Vandivier. They include Klayton Burgess, Braydon Goodwin, Blake Ledcke, Logan Mathis, Leyton McMullen, Wyatt Sisson, Mason Wilcox, Quentin Johnson, Hayden Vandivier, Bradley Asher, Gauge Cloncs, Tucker Conley, Carter Kelly, Camren Miller, Caylum Wills, Gage Smith and Anthony Berry. Assistant coaches were Tyler Burgess and Cole Jones.
