The search continues for the suspect in a weekend stabbing that critically injured a 29-year-old Crawfordsville woman.

Police are searching for Blessing Yoder, who was identified as the sister of the victim in Sunday’s incident. Officers found Laura Thorpe in a Knoll Circle apartment with apparent stab wounds to her head, neck and shoulders.

Thorpe was taken to Franciscan Health Crawfordsville before she was transferred to Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis. She wasn’t listed in Eskenazi’s public patient index as of Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.

Crawfordsville Police Chief Mike Norman said detectives were “working diligently” to follow up on information gathered in the case, but that there were no additional details to be released so far.

Yoder is described as an African American woman, approximately 5 foot, 5 inches tall with black hair and weighing around 115 pounds, according to police. She should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.

Anyone with information about Yoder’s whereabouts are asked to contact Dets. Jared Templeman or Geoff Payne at 765-362-3762 ext. 228.
