The Crawfordsville Police Department is asking for the community’s help in locating a suspect wanted in a stabbing incident Sunday afternoon.

At 4:07 p.m. Sunday, police received a call about a possible stabbing in an apartment on Knoll Circle. When police arrived, they found Laura Thorpe, 29, in the apartment with apparent stab wounds to her head, neck and shoulders.

Before being transported to Franciscan Health Crawfordsville, Thorpe identified her attacker as her sister, Blessing Yoder. Thorpe was then transported to Eskenazi Health in Indianapolis with possible life-threatening injuries. She was listed in critical condition upon her arrival at Eskenazi.

Anyone with information about Yoder’s whereabouts are asked to contact either Detective Jared Templeman or Detective Geoff Payne at 765-362-3762, ext. 228.

Yoder is an African American woman, approximately 5 foot, 5 inches tall and weighs around 115 pounds with black hair.

Yoder should be considered armed and dangerous.
