GIRLS WRESTLING

FC competes at invitational

Fountain Central girls’ wrestling team participated in the South Vermillion Invitational on Saturday.

Lydia Perkins went 2-0 on the day along with Amira Welles. Both girls won their matches by pinning their opponents.

Savanna Richardson, Jayden Larkin and Ruby Deel each went 1-1 on the day.

BASKETBALL

Schelsky enters 1,000 point club

In a special moment, Parke Heritage High School Coach Rich Schelsky presented the game ball to his son, Treigh Schelsky, after he scored the 1,000th point of his basketball career.

Treigh earned this prestigious honor during the West Vigo game held on Nov.  26 at the West Vigo  gym.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

North 7th graders win tourney

North Montgomery Middle School seventh grade boys’ basketball team won the Montgomery County Middle School Tournament on Saturday.

In the first game, the Chargers defeated Southmont 51-28. Cash Cole led the winners with 17 points.

In the second game, North beat Crawfordsville 42-9. Leading the way for the Chargers was EJ Irizarry who scored 13 points and Will Dark who scored 10 points.

On Monday, the Chargers defeated Lebanon 34-21. Bryson Lough had eight points in the victory and Cash contributed seven.

North Montgomery is 11-4 on the season and played at Attica on Tuesday.
