Karr earns 100th win
Fountain Central’s Head Coach Sammy Karr won his 100th win in girls basketball on Thursday when the Mustangs beat North Vermillion 41-28.
Fountain Central is 10-3 and will play at Southmont on Monday.
GIRLS WRESTLING
Mustangs beat Covington
Fountain Central blanked Covington 24-0. Mustang Amire Welles defeated Amber Drummond for the only match of the Thursday.
Fountain Central will compete in the first-ever WRC Girls Wrestling Meet on Monday at Attica.
Chargers defeat Riverton Parke
North Montgomery’s girls wrestling team defeated Riverton Parke 30-24 on Thursday.
The match came down to the last match and Charger Julia Shea sealed the team win with a pin.
Other North Montgomery winners were Skylar Hall (Fall). Haylee Gemino and Makenna Hutson won by forfeits. Hailey Kunz also won with a fall.
The Chargers will compete in Saturday’s Lebanon Invitational.
BOYS WRESTLING
Chargers drop meet
North Montgomery lost 50-24 at Riverton Parke on Thursday.
Winning for the Chargers were Kaydyn Cohee, Nolan Yarger and Jayden Thompson all by fall. Tristan Newlin received a forfeit.
The Chargers will compete in the South Vermillion Invitational on Saturday.
SWIMMING
Chargers split at home against North Putnam.
The girls’ team won 130-48 and the boys’ team fell short 108-75.
The Charger girls were led by Dusty Robinson, Brooklyn Kerns, Kylie Sankey and Ava Kilgour, who each one several events. They were the winning team in the 200 Medley Relay (2:06.09).
Kerns also won the 200 IM (2:28.76) and the 100 Fly (59.05).
Kerns joined Kate Merica, Katelyn Woolwine and Sankey to win the 400 Free Relay (4:07.79).
Merica also on won the 200 Free (2.11.49) and joined Robinson, Woolwine and Kilgour to win the 200 Medley Relay (1:54.29).
Sankey was also victorious in the 100 Back (1:08.00). Robinson also won the 100 Breast (1:17.66).
Winning for the boys was Avery Wright in the 100 Fly (1:00.47) and 500 Free (5:26.59).
Marshall Templeman was victorious in the 100 Breast (1:03.83).
North Montgomery will travel to Clinton Central on Monday.
