South defeats Sheridan
Southmont boys’ basketball team defeated Sheridan 63-58 in Saturday’s home opener.
The Mounties were led by senior Vince Reimondo who scored 21 points on 8-of-11 field goal attempts, including 5-of-8 from behind the 3-point line.
Southmont junior Heath Tolliver added 14 points. Senior Aaron McMasters and junior Austin Foley added eight points apiece.
Southmont (2-0) will host North Montgomery (1-0) at 7 p.m. Friday in a county and Sagamore Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
Athenians fall to Bison
Crawfordsville boys’ basketball team lost at Benton Central (2-0) 43-28 on Saturday.
Crawfordsville (0-3) will host Lebanon at 7 p.m. Friday in a Sagamore Athletic Conference game.
