GIRLS BASKETBALL

Chargers win at Speedway

North Montgomery earned a 42-31 victory at Speedway (1-4)  on Tuesday.

The Chargers were led by Lilly Graham who had three 3-point baskets on her way to 14 points. Piper Ramey had 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Caelyn Carpenter had eight points.

North Montgomery (7-2) will face Covington (3-5) at home on Thursday.

 

Mustangs defeat Attica

Fountain Central won 44-27 at Attica on Tuesday to open their Wabash River Conference schedule.

Bella Bacon had 11 points and five rebounds to lead Fountain Central. Henley Good chipped in eight points.

Fountain Central (8-2, 1-0 WRC) will be back in action at home against Lafayette Central Catholic.

 

South Putnam tops Athenians

Crawfordsville fell 57-34 at South Putnam on Tuesday.

No player statistics were made available.

Crawfordsville (1-9) will host Lebanon on Friday in a girl/boy doubleheader.

 

Parke Heritage gets by Mounties

Southmont played undefeated Parke Heritage (6-0) in a close game on Tuesday. The Mounties led 21-20 at halftime but a rough third quarter doomed the Mounties. The Wolves outscored the home team 19-6 in the quarter and eventually won 56-45.

Ella Barry scored 23 points and Layla Gomez added 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Southmont (3-6) will travel to Covenant Christian on Thursday.

 

BOYS WRESTLING

Mounties defeat Covington

Southmont defeated Covington 63-15 on Tuesday in their season opener.

The Mounties recorded seven falls. Those earning pins were Lukda Scott (106), Jackson Fruits (132), Josh Elliott (144), Hunter Alesi (150), Ethan Nemeez (190), Tyler Davis (215) and Ven Cristoff (Hwt.).

Cooper Scott (120), Camden Laney (138) and Max Musick (175) each won by tech fall.

Crawfordsville (1-0) will participate in a dual meet at Western Boone on Saturday.

 

Crawfordsville edged by Rossville

Crawfordsville was defeated Tuesday 38-36 to a good Rossville team.

The Athenian winners were Taga Koynangi (FF), Carlos Munoz (FF), Blayze Robbins (Fall), Landon Vaught (Major decision), Aiden Hutchison (Decision), Jaziel Gil-Herrera (Tech fall) and John Pennington (Fall).

Crawfordsville will next participate in the Western Boone Duals on Saturday.

 

Patriots down Chargers

North Montgomery lost to Seeger 40-22 on Tuesday.

Winning for the Chargers was Kayden Cohee (120), Landon Sommerville (157), Tristan Newlin (Hwt)  and Eli Nunan (106).

The Chargers will wrestle in the Western Boone Duals on Saturday.

 

GIRLS WRESTLING

Chargers blank Seeger

North Montgomery defeated Seeger on Tuesday by a 44-0 score.

The victory places the Chargers record at 3-0.

No individual statistics were provided.

 

SWIMMING

Athenians sweep Stars

Crawfordsville boys and girls swim teams each defeated Western Boone on Tuesday. The Athenian boys won 93-89 and the girls won 125-51.

In the boys meet, Jayden Callejas (200 IM, 200 Free Relay), Adrian Medina (100 Free, 200 Free Relay) and Shawn Ewoldt (200 Free Relay, 100 Breast) were double winners. Other winners were Konner Ellsbury 50 Free (26.20) and Trystan Saur Diving (194.90).

The winning relay team members in the 200 Free Relay (1:41.43) were Braxton Lewellen, Ewoldt, Medina and Callejas.

In the girls meet, Guinevere Schmister-Torbert won the 50 Free (26.55) and the 100 Breast (1:14.15). Schmister-Torbert joined the winning 200 Free Medley (2:03.95) with Melanie Dowd, Katherine Novak and Sophia Melevage.

Novak also won the 200 Free (2:12.54) and was a member of the winning 400 Free Relay (4:06.30) along with Ellie Walker, Marie Hesler and Dowd.

Walker won the 100 Back (1:08.88) and joined Hesler, Novak and Dowd to win the 400 Free Relay in 4:06.30.

Broth Crawfordsville teams are now 1-1.

 

Chargers defeat Hot Dogs

North Montgomery boys and girls teams defeated Frankfort in both meets. The Charger boys won 111-60 and the girls won 151-21.
